TIARA Award winner Amber Joy Poulton packed 2013/2014 full of festival appearances both in Australia & overseas, recorded a new album in Nashville & then chart success with the album Foolish Things coming home to rave reviews & hitting the Top 30 Country Music Charts with the first two releases & title track Foolish Things topping the charts at number 3 right under Lee Kernaghan & Keith Urban.
Tamworth 2014 proved a full cirlce moment for Amber Joy as she once again made her mark with a CD launch & her show with Amos Morris & Sandra Humphries I Never Promised You A Rose Garden at the famous Diggers Auditorium. Word spread fast that she was an artist not to be missed at this years festival & followed up with appearances in TAS, NSW, VIC & WA and has just arrived home from a two week tour of QLD hitting Bundaberg, Gladstone, Capella, Mackay, Proserpine, Townsville & Atherton, touching hearts and winning new fans along the way.
Currently promoting her new Nashville recorded album Foolish Things Amber Joy is very excited with the success of the album so far. With access to some of the best musicians in the world who have played with stars like: Linda Ronstadt, Trisha Yearwood and Emmylou Harris her hearfelt songs came to life & have already pleased her fans & radio stations around the country who have embraced her traditional country style. “The songwriting process is a long one but to sit back now, listening to those songs, it makes it all worthwhile. It’s very exciting hearing my songs move from the original thought & melody to these beautiful pieces of music”. The album includes some wonderful songwriting collaborations with both Sam Hawksley & Doug Bruce & the stunning duet with Amber Lawrence is sure to please country music fans everywhere. “I’ll Fly Away”, the beautiful gospel song has been re-invented to suit Amber Joy’s soulful style of singing from the heart & is the only cover song on the album but is one that her fans have been requesting for years.
Major career highlights for Amber Joy include support acts for Troy Cassar-Daley, Melinda Schnieder, Brian Cadd & Russell Morris and one support act she won’t forget for a while is sharing the stage with the great Kenny Rogers at The Adelaide Festival Centre.
It’s been a sensational transition into all things country music since her rise in 2009 as a Top 10 Toyota Starmaker Grand Finalist to supporting Kenny Rogers, recording her own albums & then earning herself recognition as a songwriter with chart success.
In total Amber Joy has had 7 songs hit the Top 30 Charts, 2 songwriting awards & the respected TIARA Award & she’s busy planning the second part of the year as she tours Kangaroo Island, Wentworth, Burooga, Wagga Wagga, Deniliquin, Mildura Country Music Festival.
