In the last 10 years Aly Cook has performed around the world from New Zealand to Australia, UK, Europe and USA building a fan base everywhere she goes. Aly’s sound is an eclectic mix of Country, Blues, Folk & rootsy songs rich with harmonies and catchy choruses. Her unique sound has developed through a long time partnership with New Zealand’s hit producer Alan Jansson. (best known for pioneering the first New Zealand street soul hip hop sound with the ‘Proud’ album & co-writing/producing one of New Zealand’s most successful songs OMC’s ‘How Bizarre’ a global smash hit.)
Having been nominated 5 times for New Zealand Female Country Artist of the Year and being awarded the title in 2012, Aly’s song writing skills landed her as a nominee for both the prestigious MLT Song writing Awards for APRA Country Song of the Year and a finalist for APRA Country Song of the Year.
Aly’s songs have graced the country music charts in Australia, New Zealand, UK and the main album charts in New Zealand. Three singles from the current album have graced the top 20 of the Top 40 Country Tracks Chart in Australia including ‘Midnight Cowboys’, that bulleted to #1 on the chart, breaking a chart record leaping from #39 to number #1 in November 2015.

Aly is a representation of today’s woman confident, motivated, creative and successful. These elements have seen her nominated for New Zealand Woman of the Year in 2011 in the Heritage and Culture Section for inspiration to women & for her work within the community in New Zealand. In this last year she has worked in remote aboriginal communities on the Uncle Jimmy Thumbs up program in Australia and as an ambassador for The Forever Changed Campaign writing and recording the song for the cause.
Her inspirational force, extensive travel and experience expresses in her exceptional song writing. Aly’s unselfish and motivational character has led her to be an artist who inspires others and assists them on their musical journey.
On return from her 2015 European Tour, where Aly performed at festivals in Italy, Norway, Germany, Spain and Poland , sharing the main bills with artists like Rosanne Cash & Laura Bell Bundy, Aly played at Sydney’s historic ‘Basement’ and graced the stage to a sold out show at ‘The Sydney Opera House’ for ‘The Jimmy Little Foundation’. In January 2016 she performed for an hour centre stage showcasing her own original music from her two albums ‘Brand New Day’ & ‘HorseShoe Rodeo Hotel’. This was to a crowd of 17,000, at The Summer Concert in Taupo NZ where Aly was invited as the opening act to Melissa Etheridge, REO Speedwagon and Huey Lewis & The News.
2016 marks the continued release of singles from her second album entitled ‘Horseshoe Rodeo Hotel’ recorded with her producer Alan Jansson and released on Rodeo Records – a label they jointly formed after having inked a deal with Australia’s oldest independent distribution MGM Distribution.
