Alan West and Steve Black

Alan West and Steve Black UNITED KINGDOM

Alan West’s deep passion for Country music has been with him since the age of six and, over the last three decades, he has gone on to establish himself as one of the UK’s finest country singers, songwriters and performers. Kelvin Henderson became Alan’s close friend and mentor and helped to shape the very definite appreciation he has for a good song. “West and Elliott” was to provide Alan with his first real taste of success having won the British Country Music Association award for “UK’s Finest Duo” two years running as well as receiving the “Album of the Year” for their debut album “The All Day Session”. This led to frequent tours with such songwriting legends as Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Sonny Curtis and Hugh Moffatt. Since the duo went their separate ways Alan has gone on to record two solo CD’s the first of which was recorded in Nashville. Produced by Pat McInerney and engineered by multi Grammy winner Bill VornDick at Mountainside Studio “Songs From A Neophyte”(2008) was to become a turning point in Alan’s career. Not only did the album receive critical acclaim it directly led to more tours including one with Hal Ketchum. Having worked with Steve Black (one of the UK’s unsung songwriters) for a number of years, the decision to record a CD of Steve’s songs was an easy one. The new CD “The Way Of The World” (2010) was produced and engineered by John Taylor at Mirage Studios and features guest appearances by Albert Lee and Sarah Jory as well as performances by some of the UK’s finest players. November  2010 saw Alan on a trip to Nashville with guitarist Dean Barnes to perform at The Loveless Café and The Cadillac Ranch where he also rekindled his relationship in the studio with Pat McInerney, the results of which have now been released as a 6 track EP, “the way it is” on his Devon based record label NEO Music which is a project he has been working hard on in recent years.

It is fair to say however, that throughout this time he has remained true to his belief and love for the music he plays. He has an uncanny knack of finding great songs to perform/record, and his attention to detail in the studio and on the stage ultimately enables those songs and their performers to shine. Blessed with a voice that has moved people the world over, he also possesses a rock solid belief that, talent aside, simplicity and soul are the essential ingredients in all that he does. I could write a list here of his achievements, the awards, the people he has worked with but that’s not who Alan is. In my humble opinion he has nothing to prove. He believes in the organic, the gentle unfolding of like minds and people who can do things he can’t and do them well. It may have taken 25 years but the point has been reached where along with others he can use his vast talent and skills in this new, exciting and progressive project that is NEO Music.”  see url Steve Black

here The bond between Alan and Steve Black is growing deeper as the years roll on. Gigging more and more together has enhanced each other’s performance and writing and more importantly their genuine understanding of each other’s skills and weaknesses. They have developed a number of regular gigs where they have built a relationship with the ever increasing number of folk who come to watch. These folk include many musicians and one in particular has become a part of the “Neo Music” stable. Adam Sweet is an extraordinary talent and Alan leapt at the opportunity to record and produce an album for him. Adam had already “adopted” one of Steve’s songs in his live set and it didn’t take long for them to team up and co-write 7 songs for recording. The album “Small Town Thinking” has received critical acclaim again proving Alan’s persistence for excellence has paid off!

Appearing at the 02 London Country2Country festival two years running has helped to put Alan’s music before a new and mainly younger audience and in recent times has played a part in leading Alan and Steve on to performing at more intimate venues to listening audiences all over the UK.

http://iewh2017.com/casual-sex-app-reddit The organic way works for the both of them. Having slowly cultivated a relationship with Bob Harris he finally invited Alan to do an interview and live session for his Radio 2 show. The interview itself proved to be an open, honest and thought provoking insight into the world of a British Country Music artiste and created an amazing reaction from a huge number of people.
